Vocal ensembles masterclass

We are incredibly excited to host countertenor Timothy Wayne-Wright of British a capella vocal ensemble The King's Singer's, at this special masterclass.

The King's Singers was formed in 1968 by six recently-graduated choral scholars from King's College, Cambridge. Their vocal line-up was (by chance) two countertenors, a tenor, two baritones and a bass; a formation from which they have never deviated. Now celebrating the 50th anniversary of the group, 2018 sees The King's Singers presenting their anniversary season, GOLD, with a triple-album and book realease, plus a world tour.

Timothy Wayne-Wtight began his musical career as a boy chorister at Chelmsford Cathedral, Essex, age six. He later studied as a countertenor at Goldsmith's College, University of London, following which he was awarded a Vocal Scholarship for postgraduate study at Trinity College of Music in London. During this time Timothy became a choral scholar at The Royal Navy College Chapel, and sang for several vocal ensembles in the UK including Ex Cathedra Consort, Polyphony and Stile Antico, in addition to Brompton Oratory and St Paul's Cathedral. In 2006 Timothy successfully auditioned to become Alto Lay Clerk at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, and just two years later was invited to audition for the King's Singers, with whom he has now been an integral member for almost nine years.

The King's Singers have consistently been welcomed on the world's great stages throughout its history, from London's Royal Albert Hall to the Opera House in Sydney and New York's Carnegie Hall, in addition to becoming ambassadors for musical excellence across the globe. Two Grammy® Awards, an Emmy® Award and a place in Gramophone magazine's inaugural Hall of Fame sit among the many accolades bestowed upon the group.
