Here Now: Reimaging New Lynn
The centre of New Lynn was transformed with large-scale temporary installations that recalled the suburb's rich cultural and industrial heritage and image its future.
As part of the the 5th Auckland Triennial, teams of academics, students and architects contributed to a design-based open laboratory called The Lab, mounting a series of rolling exhibitions and public events at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.

Architecture for Humanity - Container Homes
Sean Bian, who has recently completed a Master of Architecture (Professional) (March(Prof)), turns a shipping container into a liveable home for disaster victims.
An exploration of futuristic high-rise construction involving 120 second-year architecture students tasked with the construction of 38 eight-metre high self-supporting models.
The mission was to re-imagine the iconic courtyard between Level 2 of Buildings 421 and 423, and design an installation that would compensate for the loss of the two magnificent oaks at its centre.
