Mr Juan Kim
South Korean born Juan Kim moved to NZ in 2005, and attended high school in Whangarei. Juan has played the piano since the age of six and he completed his Bachelors of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Auckland under Qu Yong.
In 2011, he played for the operetta 'Die Fledermaus' in Whangarei with Helen Medlyn and performed the Tchaikovsky piano concert no.1 in B-flat minor, Opus 23.
In 2012, he performed at several Auckland University events and continued to perform around New Zealand including Christchurch, Invercargill, and Tauranga. He also joined Auckland Chamber Choir and performed Bach B-Minor Mass at the Auckland Town Hall with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
In 2013, he joined the university production 'Messiah' as a vocal coach under direction of Linda Kitchen and Robert Wiremu.
In 2014, he accompanied and coached many vocal students from Auckland University under Dr. Te Oti Rakena and performed numerous events around New Zealand and also Opera under the stars in Apia, Samoa.
He is currently an official accompanist of the University of Auckland, rehearsal pianist for the Auckland Choral and Auckland Oratorio Choral.
