Overview
The Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) provides you with a general introduction to architecture and related aspects of design. It forms the first part of the two-tiered programme and is a prerequisite degree for your entry into the professional qualification, the Master of Architecture (Professional)* (MArch(Prof)).
You will undertake design projects in the studio, and take a number of core courses in the fields of architectural media, history and theory of architecture and urbanism, architectural and environmental technology and professional studies. You will also select from electives in architectural media and take two General Education courses.
*Recognised by the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB), the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) and the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) for the purposes of applying for registration as a professional architect.
