Student exchange and study abroad

If spending part of your study time overseas sounds exciting, you'll be interested in our international exchange programme - 360º Auckland Abroad.

The 360º Auckland Abroad programme gives you the opportunity to spend a semester or a year of your programme at one of more than 90 universities in 25 different countries.

Other 360º Auckland Abroad options may involve field trips, short courses or internships. The programme is available to both outbound students (Auckland students who wish to attend an overseas university on exchange) and inbound guest exchange students.

If you're a University of Auckland postgraduate student you may be able to study at an overseas partner university of equal standing and enjoy the benefits of the exchange agreement - you'll pay tuition fees only to The University of Auckland, be eligible for scholarships and bring credits you have earned home to your degree.

Recent 360º Auckland Abroad exchange student Ruth Keeling

"In 2010 I attended the University of Copenhagen in Denmark for one semester as part of Auckland 360 student exchange programme. I studied courses which were accredited to my Bachelor of Planning at Auckland.

"As a planner, Copenhagen is a remarkable city to study in. Many of the ideas and concepts explored in my course were exemplified in the city.  One aspect that particularly grabbed me was the way people move through the city; cycling is such an integral part of Copenhagen, and to see how a city feels on two wheels was a fantastic opportunity. The university itself really has earned its reputation. The Life Science Faculty has an impressive calibre of teaching staff and it was great to experience a different style of study. My skills in verbal articulation improved a lot over the course of the semester and I have a renewed motivation for my chosen field. I have been exposed to new ways of thinking and  behaving that have benefited me greatly in my studies this year."

Ruth Keeling is in her final year of a Bachelor of Planning.
