Celebrating Sundials (ArchTec 208)

Led by Lecturer Hugh Byrd, second-year BAS students created sundials ancient and modern, practical and fantastical, to better understand the importance of solar geometry in architectural design.


The Mountain

… In which Bachelor of Architectural Studies students Johnathan Guest and Hamish Fyfe created an emergency shelter for mountain-climbers.

The Umbrella Workshop

David Lau, who is currently studying for a Master of Architecture (Professional) (March(Prof)), envisions a new life for the Mid-City complex in Queen Street, Auckland.


Skyrise City

An exploration of futuristic high-rise construction involving 120 second-year architecture students tasked with the construction of 38 eight-metre high self-supporting models.

Architecture for Humanity - Container Homes

Sean Bian, who has recently completed a Master of Architecture (Professional) (March(Prof)), turns a shipping container into a liveable home for disaster victims.
