Academy of Music
The Academy of Music aims to inspire and develop the knowledge and potential of aspiring singers, composers and musicians in the pre-tertiary age group.
Whatever your musical talent, the Academy of Music workshops enable you to explore and develop your skills. A series of intensive Saturday workshop sessions tailored specifically for pre-tertiary students, led by staff and guests from the School of Music.
Workshops available during 2011:

Jazz Workshop – Saturday 3 September
Jazz tutoring comprising combo, big band and instrument-specific sessions led by a selection of New Zealand's finest jazz musicians. -
Voice Workshop – Saturday 3 September
A choice of intensive classical, jazz or popular music voice sessions aimed at broadening your skills, knowledge and artistry. -
Brass Workshop with NZ Chamber Brass – Saturday 24 September
Instrument-specific master classes and large ensemble sessions led by New Zealand Chamber Brass. -
Piano Workshop – Saturday 1 October
Learn about the many aspects required for a pianist to be a complete performer with School of Music staff Rae de Lisle, Stephen De Pledge, Dean Sky-Lucas (piano) and James Tibbles (harpsichord).
