Overview
The Master of Music (MMus) is an internationally recognised qualification that will give you entry to a high-level career in many areas of music, and help you to achieve excellence in your main field of musical interest. You will choose one of three main areas of study:
- Performance – a concerto, lecture-recital, piece of written work or chamber-music performance, plus a concert recital
- Composition – a portfolio of compositions
- Musicology – a thesis on an approved topic, or a portfolio of work in approved subject areas.
The programme is normally started in Semester One, but if you are taking the Performance major you may be able to begin in Semester Two, if places are available.
For more detail, please see the University Calendar, held in the University Library; or you can purchase one from the University Bookshop or view online.
